Senior Project Reflection

(1) Q:What are you most proud of in your 2-Hour Presentation and/or your senior project? Why?
A:What I am most proud of from my 2- hour presentation is going over the 30 minute requirement and how I was not as nervous as I thought i would be, which resulted in a very successful presentation. What I am most proud of from my senior project is defiantly how much I learned through out the year. I have been putting that knowledge to use for a while now.

(2)Questions to Consider

(A)What assessment would you give yourself on your 2-Hour Presentation (self-assessment)? Why?
- On my 2 hour, I will give myself a P+/AE I have never prepared myself for a presentation as much as I did for this one. I reached all the requirements, I met the time requirement, and answered my EQ in the best way possible.

(B) What assessment would you give yourself on your 2-Hour Presentation (self-assessment)? Why?
- I would give myself an AP/P-. I had troubles with my research through out the year but I honestly don't think that affected the quality of my answers for my 2 hour. I turned everything in on time though out the year, minis one blog.I enjoyed working on my senior topic.

(3)  What worked for you in your senior project?
- What worked for me was my 2 hour. Through out my 4 years in ipoly, this was the presentation I completely prepared myself way before the day I had to present.

(4) What didn’t work for you in your senior project?
- What did not work for me was research. I preferred getting my research from my service learning then articles.

(5) Finding Value
How has the senior project been helpful to you in your future endeavors?   Be specific and use examples.
- Well it made me realize that i want to own my own spa one day so it helped me on knowing what I want in the future and how I am going to get there.

Answer #3

Q:EQ?
A: What is the best way to take care of teen skin?

Q: Answer 3/Facts
A: Changing your pillow cases and yes sheets once a month reduces the amount of bacteria on your face therefore having cleaner pores. Pillow cases and sheets save up all the dead skin and bacteria from your face. Since the pores open up at night, they become clogged with bacteria causing acne.

Room Creativity

Q:(1) How do you plan to address the room creativity expectation?
A: I plan on reaching the room creativity expectation by having a varity of visuals. I plan on having bottles of the most popular acne medications on every table which, will tie in with one of my activities.
I also plan on posters showing the different types of skin and acne.

Q:(2) What activity ideas do you have for answer 1 or 2?
A: My second answer is making sure teens know what is inside the product being used. So on each table they will have a mini description on the products, they will match them up with the different skin types and acne which I would provide.

Answer 2

EQ: What is the best way to take care of teen skin?

Answer: The best way to take care of teen skin is to know the ingridents you put on your face. Know what each and every purpose for the ingridents.

Evidence: Certain people are allergic to certain products they may not know that it may be just one ingrident in which that prospect contains. Knowing what exactly is in your products helps to fight everyone's special need on their face.

Presentation 2 Rough Draft

Essential question: What is the best way to take care of teen skin?

Objective: My objective is to teach others how to take three simple steps that will improve the appearance of thier skin.

Introduction: Hello, my name is Gabriela and my essential question is, What is the best way of taking care of teen skin? I wan to be able to help others by giving them simple steps on how they could improve tier skin and gain more confidence in the process.

Verification: I will ask three questions to make sure the class is understanding.
1. How many times a day should a teen wash tier face?
2.What SPF number should the sunblock be?
3.What main ingridents should you look for in a face wash.

Three important sources: My service learning at Bella Fusion Skin and Body Studio. I have completed over 50 hours at that spa and have learned easy steps a teen could take at home to better their skin without having to waste a lot of money (also depends on the severity of the acne, acne scars etc. that they want to improve.
Research, every article I read gives me a better understanding on how the skin works and proper maintenance. Also a lot oh home remedies like face masks, zit zappers, that one could easily create at home.
Short videos, I tend to watch a lot of two minute videos on how to apply make up, proper steps to take to remove make and so on. This has helped me find simple ways that a teen could do to imrpove the appearnce of their skin.

Body:

  • Literal: I have learned that one of the best home remedies to help the swelling of a zit the quickest is to put a tab bit of toothpaste over night. Toothpaste helps kill the bacteria that could be on the surface of the skin which causes the swelling of the zit. I have also learned that proper maintenance is the way to go for teens. Which could be washing their face twice a day using a sunscreen with a SPF of at least 15 and always moisturizing their face.
  • Interp: Based on what i have learned I was able to complete independent componet 1. All my research on facials and simple ingredients that could be added to a home made face wash, makes a big difference in ones skin.
Visuals: Several posters each demestrating steps on proper way of washing your face etc.

Activity: I will create a worksheet for each group. Each worksheet will have an envelope with cut outs with arrows that they will have to put on the face that will be on the worksheet demonstratin
g the proper hand motions to wash your face.

Conclusion: What we went over today were just simple steps that you could take at home to help with the apperence of your skin. You have learned one of the most important which is the proper way of washing your face, because the way you wash your face effects where you break out. You can't rub your face to hard because your pimples will eventually spread all over your face depending where you have acne. By the end of my senior project I want to be able to have less stress on about my own skin since i will know how to take proper steps to take care of it.

Answer 1

Q: (1) What is answer 1 to your EQ? Be specific in your answer and write it like a thesis statement.
A: One of the best ways to take care of teenage skin is making sure to change your pillow cases and bed sheets at least every two days. Your pillow cases gather up all your skins oil and bacteria every night, therefore laying on dirty pillows causes breakouts.

Q:(2) What possible evidence do you have to support this answer?
A: Your pillow cases gather up all your skins oil and bacteria every night, therefore laying on dirty pillows causes breakouts. Its one of the most simple ways that most teens don't really know will help their skin.

Q: (3) What source(s) did you find this evidence and/or answer?
A:  My source for my answer is my service learning. That was her first answer when I asked what will help prevent breakouts.

Presentation Reflection

Q: 1.  In what way did the first interview affect your presentation?  Please explain, be specific and use an example.
A: My interview helped me in my presentation by allowing me to think more about the patients point of view which made me research about procedures that are commonly done. Mrs. Arellano told me a lot about what she asks the patients before doing any sort of facial. Dermatologist also ask various questions to patients before any kind of procedure is done.

Q: 2.  What you say stood out about your presentation performance and why?
A: What I think stood out in my presentation was the way I performed the presentation. I seemed confidant about what i was talking about.

Q:3.  What was the most challenging to do and why?
A: What I found the most challenging was figuring out what to talk about. I had so much to choice from that i couldn't stick just to one subject. Having to create my visual was also kinda challenging, I didn't really know how to put it together to make it visually striking.
