Interpretive:
The most important thing I gained from my service learning is first hands on experience with what I want as my career in the future. I got to be in the environment where I know I am going to be at in the future.

Applied:
It helped answer my EQ by giving me knowledge on how to properly take care of skin. I worked with 2 estheticians in which answered all my questions about skin. I got to be in the facial room and listen to the patients questions on their concerns. I learned how to properley take care of skin from first hand expiriance.

Helping 2013

(1) What ideas do you have for your senior project and why?
(A) Body language reading. Sounds awesome and no has done it.

- It would be best if you start looking for people who could connect you with a school where you could learn some yourself. I'm sure that count as service learning hours.

(2) What do you plan to do to complete the 10 hours of service learning
(A) I honestly have no idea.

- Well like I was telling you, maybe enrolling yourself in a class. Looking for connections as of now for you won't have much trouble when your senior year begins.

(3) What do you hope to see or expect to see when watching the class of 2012 present their two hour presentations?
(A) I haven't really thought about it. Music, medical jobs etc.

-Make sure to show respect when you are watching presentations. Don't be late, that will distract the presenter and cause them to get nervous.

(4) What questions do they have about senior project?  What additional recommendations would you give the 2013 student about senior project?  Be specific and note what you told them.
(A) He had no questions.

- He didn't really show much interest to the interview. Didn't have ant questions therefore showing he didn't really care.

Independent Component 2

Literal
(A)"I Gabriela Garcia, affirm that I completed my independent which represents 30 hours of work."

(B)What I completed was a intense research on three sunscreen/moisturizers to see what active ingredients are found on all three. I wanted to see what exactly those ingredients do to the skin and how they work. I tested each product for two weeks so in total 6 weeks of testing.

Interpretive
This independent component helped my senior project because I learned what ingredients to look for when buying a sunscreen/moisturizer; which I had ten asked before but, did not have an answer.
I reached 30 hours by first, gathering information on my own to see what sunscreens/moisturizers are most common amount today's teenagers. After finding out the top three products, I researched every active ingredient on all three products. I found two ingredients in which they all had a percentage of. I created a video explaining my research, which took longer then intended since I kept messing up. I edit the video and turned it in via YouTube.

Applied
This independent component helped me answer my EQ because I tied it up with teens directly. I made sure the products are popular amount them. I have been asked in my 20 minute presentation what ingredients to look for in moisturizers and I did not know the answer. Now after all this research I could help them improve their skin by advising them on what ingredients to avoid and look for.

Answer #3

Q:EQ?
A: What is the best way to take care of teen skin?

Q: Answer 3/Facts
A: Changing your pillow cases and yes sheets once a month reduces the amount of bacteria on your face therefore having cleaner pores. Pillow cases and sheets save up all the dead skin and bacteria from your face. Since the pores open up at night, they become clogged with bacteria causing acne.

Room Creativity

Q:(1) How do you plan to address the room creativity expectation?
A: I plan on reaching the room creativity expectation by having a varity of visuals. I plan on having bottles of the most popular acne medications on every table which, will tie in with one of my activities.
I also plan on posters showing the different types of skin and acne.

Q:(2) What activity ideas do you have for answer 1 or 2?
A: My second answer is making sure teens know what is inside the product being used. So on each table they will have a mini description on the products, they will match them up with the different skin types and acne which I would provide.
